Suppose p(k) is probability of person winning.
Till P(k+1)/P(k)>1 it is increasing the chances would increase. It is upto 10.
The logic is correct 🙂 but the maximum happens at the 11th position, as detailed in today’s post. In general it is close to, but not exactly equal to, the square root of the total number of possibilities.

in this i am having a confusion that possibilities are

which is the way for A he will point A | B
” ” ” B ” ” B | A
which is not the way for A then——>b | A
which is not the way for B then——->A | B
these are the only possibilities there is nothing in common
in the above we don’t know what kind of person his companion is so there will be 2 possibilities
that is why i can’t understand the above explanation

Read the question being asked. It is not “which way goes to A”. It is “If I asked the other guy which road goes to A, where would he point”
